Our Career.

Third year level students all over around the Philippines were required to take the National Career Assessment Examination. This test was given to the students to help them pick for their course in college. I do agree that this was a very good idea, since I am one of the juniors during this school year who still doesn't thought of what course to take in college, yet. And I also believe that this would really help a lot of high school students.

I am happy taking exams like this because we only took it for about half the day, and also because we don't need to use our brains too deeply cause most of the test asks only what we would like to do for our future, except for the other subjects included of course. Some of the questions there were, "Are you fond of dancing, singing, acting, etc?", "Do you enjoy cooking?", "Do you like painting, drawing, etc.?", then we just only have to pick Not at all, Little, Much, or Very Much.

Even if others find the examination very boring, honestly, I had fun taking it. Now, I can't wait to go to college, hahaha.

Evergreen.

Most of us mistaken bamboos as trees. Well, it's actually a kind of grass but it is famous because of its characteristics of being tall and thin, and it has many uses that contribute a lot of help to our community. Its leaves serve as food to some animals. Its trunk may be made into huts, small cages, furnitures, or even simple handicrafts, and a whole lot more. Also, the whole plant itself may serve as habitat for the wild life.

Through these observations, I can consider myself as a bamboo. I share my friends the blessings I have, just like the leaves of the plant. I also offer myself to help others to make their work easier.

One unique characteristic of the bamboo is its ability not to easily fall down in times of calamities, instead, they just sway with the wind. Just like me, I'm not the kind of girl who easily surrenders. As much as possible, I finish the tasks given to me. Successful or not, what's important is I did my BEST.

Let's take the road.

Finally, the Sayanistas' most awaited moment had come to an action, Intramurals 2011. Thanks to Ate Chastine, the school sports club's president, with the help of the YSC members and officers, this occasion would not be pursued.

Last Friday, first day of Intrams - The agenda started with a short program that morning. During this program, the representatives of each level for the Mr. and Ms. Physique ramped around the whole court. The cheer-dance competition was put through afterward. After that, the games began. I wasn't able to watch the morning games straight, especially the basketball boys because I was assigned to assist in the throwing events. Good thing that event was held in front of the Maliksi Building so I was able to take a peek on the game. In the afternoon, Table Tennis girls division started. I was included at that game. They let me play the singles, while our other two players, Eunice and Rachelle, played in the doubles. Michael, and some of my other batch-mates was there not just to support me, but also to support our team, Red Ferrari. Luckily, I won against the player of Blue Porsche, fourth years, and Yellow Lamborghini, second years. So to sum up, I was declared champion in that division. Whew..

Saturday, second day of Intrams - Honestly, I went to school a little bit late that day. Hehe. That is because I was expecting that day would be slightly boring since the game where I was included was already through. Yet, I tried to make the day memorable. I watched other events with Michael and Nica. We also supported Nica when they played the Patintero and won the first rank. I was able to watch the championship of the Basketball boys as well. The three of us were together but then, Nica left so it was only me and Michael who spent the rest of the day. Then, that afternoon, there was Basketball girls! I suddenly realized that one of our players doesn't actually like to play, so I volunteered instead. Thus, I was team up with the players. We won over the Green Chevrolet, first years, but unfortunately, the Blue Porsche defeated us. And I also got not one, but two wounds in my both knees. Good thing Marcson was there, lol, the medic who assisted Ma'am May to apply first aid in the injured parts. That moment, I felt I was like a kid again because I was very unsteady before. Yet, even though I dove-without-water in the court, I still enjoyed the game. Congrats SiƱors!

I hope to have another awesome Intrams next year. Well, good luck to the next YSC president. ;)

Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

---

A. Recalling
  1. Things that love is not according to Sonnet 116.
  • Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds or bends with the remover to remove.
  • Love's not Time's fool.
  • Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks.
   2.  Things that love is according to Sonnet 116.
  • O no! it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken.
  • It is the star to every wandering bark, whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.

B. Interpreting
Love is like the guiding North Star that leads every lost ship towards the right path. Whenever we are confused on which way to go or what to do, love is there to escort us to the straight course and will never let us feel solitary.

C. Extending
I agree with the speaker's interpretation of love because Sonnet 166's explications what love is are factual and existent.

I hope this is true.

Ma'am May: Jam, we will be having a meeting this afternoon at the three-Hydrogen room, kindly tell that to all the SALIW members and officers.
Jam: Okay Ma'am, I will tell them.
M: I would like everyone to attend the meeting.
J: Yes, we will be there.

Noon..

J: Ma'am! Ma'am! I had been looking all over for you.
M: What is it?
J: I just wanted to tell you that I have told every member in our club about the meeting later.
M: Oh, okay. Thank you.
J: Any time Ma'am.
M: Well then, you better get going and get ready for your next subject.

M: See you.

Afternoon, at the 3-H room..

M: Are all the SALIW members and officers here, Jam?
J: Yes Ma'am. We're all here.
M: Good.
J: By the way, Ma'am, I had been thinking all day the reason why you had called us in this meeting?
M: It is because I am going to tell you that I was planning to have a club outing. If many of you will be joining then I will finalize the schedule and we will get ready for the day.
J: Really? Oh, I would love to join the outing! I am guessing most of the other members would like to join too! I can't wait for that exciting day.
M: Okay then. Now, you may take your seat because the meeting is about to began.
J: Okay Ma'am. :)
