Nope.

After hearing the news in the television about switching the starting of classes, it will start every September instead of June, that was proposed by the Department of Education, I suddenly paused for a moment. I was not expecting that they would think of that type of concept. I know this kind of proposal is implemented in some other countries like in the U.S., but here in the Philippines? I think it is not a good idea.

Lots of things may be affected. It may also have an effect on some other events and holidays held around the months of April or May, and during June, July or August. In these months, many occasions are distinguished. Like the Holy Week and Flores de Mayo, which are regularly celebrated by people, most especially those who are Catholics. Another is the Linggo/Buwan ng Wika, this is a very well-known occasion in the whole country where we celebrate for our own nationality, to let everyone know that we never forget our nationality and we are proud to be Filipinos.

Weather conditions are involved also. Having hot school days and cold summer? I don't think folks would enjoy this at all. We can no longer feel the cool breeze entering our classrooms during school days, and just hot rays of the sun instead. Note that we are wearing our long-sleeve uniforms at those days. We can't even go swimming during summer either! Making a big fresh splashy dive in a pool, no, we can't. The climate is too cold for that. We can't do the things that we used to anymore. We will be forced to change our tradition if that's the case. And it's sad if that happens.

I don't like the DepEd's proposal. I wish they will not approve the proposal so that they won't have a chance to implement it here in the whole Philippines. You can't blame me but surely, no hesitation, without a doubt, I disagree at this concept of them. Sorry.
